What to Expect
Free Consultation
I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation (contact me to schedule) where we can discuss your needs, answer any questions you have, and determine if you’d like to schedule a first session. There is no expectation that you commit to anything beyond that first session.
Before the First Session
I will send you a link to an online Client Portal with some digital paperwork for you to complete. I may include some questionnaires to get a better sense of the issues you’re facing and how I may be able to help support your needs.
Your First Session
During the first session, we will collaborate to clarify your concerns and identify potential focus areas to start with. I will invite you to take some time to reflect after the session before deciding whether you’d like to move forward with working together.

Frequently Asked Questions
Are you currently accepting new clients?
Yes.
How long does therapy last?
The length of therapy can vary significantly depending on which issues you’re struggling with and to what extent those issues are impacting your day-to-day functioning. I typically suggest that we check in after the first few sessions to discuss how the process is working for you so far and how you wish to proceed from there. Of course, you have the right to end therapy at any point, for any reason (including no reason at all).
How do I know if we’re a good fit?
I believe that the foundation of good therapy is the unique relationship we develop together as therapist and client; for therapy to be most effective, it is important that you feel safe, heard, and understood. I often recommend that new clients consult with several providers before deciding who they feel most comfortable with, and it may take one or two sessions to determine if it feels like a good fit. If at any point you are feeling a disconnect within our therapeutic relationship, I encourage you to discuss it with me so we can identify potential ways to help you feel better supported.
Where do you see clients?
I offer in-person sessions in Los Altos and Santa Clara, as well as virtual sessions throughout California.
How often do we meet?
Typically, we start out meeting once per week for at least the first few sessions. Depending on how you’re feeling about the progress we’re making, we may decide to meet more or less frequently as needed.
What are your fees?
My standard fee is $220 per 50-minute session.
I reserve a limited number of reduced-fee / sliding-scale slots for eligible clients to be offered at my discretion as they become available. If I am unable to offer a sliding-scale slot at the moment, I can provide referrals for local low-fee providers as part of your initial consultation.
Do you accept insurance?
I am currently an out-of-network provider and do not work directly with insurance companies. I can provide monthly billing statements (aka “superbills”) for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement. I encourage you to check with your insurance carrier to confirm their coverage for out-of-network psychotherapy services. Please note that most insurance companies require a diagnosis code, which may become part of your medical record.
